History; title

WIP;

- lived with birth parents until he was 4 and a half

- parents went missing, Zetes left alone in his home for 3 days before the police realized his parents were gone and their son was not with them

- the fact that Zetes survived on his own was talked about locally as a miracle

- circumstances of parents' disappearance remains a mystery; Zetes has no idea if they are still alive but assumes not

- Zetes fostered by a poliecman for a brief period (2 months) while waiting for actual adoptive parents

- was eventually adopted by a white couple who lived a town or two away (they are on good terms but are not particularly close, due to both Zetes' hesitance to get attached and his struggles with his disorder)

- stayed with them until high school graduation and then joined the police academy

- worked at a gas station/auto repair station as a teen; never worked on vehicles himself but retains some knowledge of the processes just from association

- had his first psionic experience at age 14; picked up a child's toy in a parking lot and experienced their memories and love of the object

- had a few more experiences as his disorder full formed, but all were mild and he was generally more curious than afraid; still, he wasn't sure if what was happening was "real" or just something in his head

- his first negative experience: money handed over by a customer brought about dark, guilty memories of it being stolen; morally, he has something of a quiet crisis

- at that point he wasn't sure he wanted to tell his adoptive parents, not wanting to worry them when he wasn't sure what was happening to him (also probably feared rejection from them)

- was somewhat withdrawn from touch afterwards, being particularly careful around items that weren't his (seen by some as simple politeness)

- opened up about his disorder when he graduated as he felt it was more his problem to deal with and no longer the responsibility of his parents

- finally started taking suppressants at this point after being officially diagnosed and was able to better adjust to the disorder; this helped him become less afraid of handling objects and was more open to the positive experiences objects would provide him again (something he had enjoyed)

- adopted a tendency to just be upfront about his psi even if he was not always met with approval

- met Sebastian after graduating from the academy at 21
